Career in Dental Nursing

If you are unhappy with your job and want a different career that makes people feel better, have you considered a dental nursing course?

Dental nursing is a well-paid and rewarding profession. Dental nurses assist the dentist/hygienist/therapist in all clinical procedures, providing chairside support. Maintain impeccable standards of hygiene and cross-infection control, according to the latest guidelines and following practice procedures and policies.

Dental nurses in the UK must either hold a recognised qualification and be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) or be working towards registration on an approved training course. The National Diploma in Dental Nursing is a recognised qualification that is accredited by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses. Students are awarded a certificate by working as a trainee dental nurse in a dental practice while completing the National Diploma course, and eventually passing the examination.

All candidates wishing to sit the NEBDN National Diploma must have undergone a formal training course with an NEBDN-accredited training provider, while working as trainee dental nurses in the dental workplace. In addition, every candidate must have successfully completed an NEBDN Record of Experience portfolio before entering the examination, as this provides written evidence of the practical experience achieved within the dental workplace by the candidate.
